Although it is often labelled as tarmac the official name for this material is asphalt as it contains mastic bitumen and course aggregates that combine to produce one of the most hard wearing and durable surfaces possible – making it perfect for driveways. We use SMA Prodrive Tarmac, for the following reasons:
■ When it is laid to our high standards it does not create puddles and will not cause water or damp to come towards you home.
■ Our SMA has a shiny look to it that is very appealing to the eye. Especially when it has a block paving border.
■ The likelihood of weeds or moss growing through tarmac is highly unlikely meaning it is easy to keep your new driveway looking new.
■ The time it takes to install a tarmac drive is much quicker than block paving or resin, this helps keep costs down.

How long does a typical patio or driveway take to install?
Typically, we allow 7 days to complete a project. This does however depend on size and materials. Some tarmac driveways can be completed in a couple of days. It really depends on your existing driveway and requirements.
What is the best type of driveway?
Tarmac is our most popular driveway material, because it is quick and low maintenance. If you already have a tarmac or block paving driveway and you wish to replace it, resin is then our most popular.
